Lorraine tries to enrich her students’ learning experience in many ways. She has worked in law and construction, as well as teaching, and enjoys integrating the knowledge gained from study and practical work, into class learning. She sees education as a broad and lifelong pursuit and will try to gift her students with the same love of learning she was lucky enough to receive from her parents and whanau. Whether academic study, drawing classes or boxing training, she enjoys giving things a go and tries to show her students that most skills take time, patience and perseverance. She sees every child as having a special spark that can hopefully be nurtured and has a particular interest in neurodiversity, which in its own way, can sometimes create the resilience we want children to have. She enjoys cooking for her grown up family, art, politics, watching movies and sport with her partner, and is lucky enough to have a garden to grows fresh herbs in.
